Reflection
The command is be still — and it runs against every instinct, because stillness feels like doing nothing while the world demands motion. But the stillness here isn't idleness; it's the deliberate quieting that makes room to know. The knowing depends on the stillness. You can't hear over your own noise. And what's known in the stillness is a matter of proportion: I am God. The verse re-sizes things. In the stillness, the frantic urgencies shrink and the one enduring fact stands up to its full height — a God who will be exalted, whose exaltation doesn't depend on the week's outcomes. Sunday is the day to be still, and in the stillness to let the proportions come right.
