Not everything belongs to now.
“To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven.”
Reflection
The verse makes a claim that's oddly steadying: there is a time for things — meaning not everything belongs to now. Some purposes are for a season that hasn't come yet, and some for a season that's already passing. The pressure to do and be everything at once eases when you accept that things have their times. And a time to every purpose means the season you're in has its own proper work. Not every good thing is this season's thing. Part of wisdom is discerning what time it actually is — what this particular season is for — rather than forcing the work of a different season into it. Saturday is a good day to ask what season you're in, and to do that season's work rather than mourn a different one's.
